All of Us

There were seven of us on this trip. Our friends Robert and Karen from Dixon, New Mexico; Carole, Jane and I, from New York. Our guide was Arturo Kirkconnell and his terrific cousin and driver, Adrian. Below are some of us, in different locations, at different times of the day enjoying our trip. The photos are in no particular order.

I think this was in our Hostal in Playa Giron. Some of us had a few mojitos and Adrian began teaching us how to Salsa. Note that everyone had on jackets, yes, it was cool in Cuba in the evenings.

One day we were serenaded at lunch by a Cuban singer and guitarist. After he finished, we asked if Robert would also play and sing. The guitarist obliged us by lending Robert his guitar. It was definitely a great idea, Robert played and sang beautifully.

Another tough day at the office.

Robert, Arturo and Carole. Robert trying to get a better look at a a warbler in the distance.

Karen, Jane and Carole at the Botanical gardens with binoculars at the ready!

Jane and Karen posing with Franz Liszt in Havana. Franz was kind of stiff.

Our rooms at various locations. They were all nice. Some had a refrigerator and all had air conditioners.

Jane and I in front of a hotel in Cuba where we stopped in for some drinks. This hotel was interesting to us because it was previously Jewish owned. Note the Mezuzah on the threshold on the right.
